Suns Pull Out Win Against Grizzlies

The Suns decided to make their game against the Memphis Grizzlies a little more interesting on Tuesday by sitting out Steve Nash because of back spasms and leaving Goran Dragic at home with flu-like symptoms.  Amar’e Stoudemire followed that up by getting ejected from the game with two quick technical fouls in the second quarter.  That left Phoenix with only nine players to go against OJ Mayo, Marc Gasol, Rudy Gay and the rest of the Memphis team. Even with Nash out, Suns get win against Thunder

If someone had only watched the first six minutes of the Suns vs Thunder game on Monday night and then was asked which team had only three wins to their name this season, it would be a toss-up on which team they would choose.  But by the end of the quarter, the Suns had gathered themselves enough tie Oklahoma City at 32 apiece. Richardson Blog: December 29, 2008

Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening! depending on what time zone your reading this from. This is the first of many blogs, in my blogs I will try to give you a more in depth look at me J-Rich as a person, father, NBA player and all around guy. I will personally review every comment that is posted, although I cannot respond to all I will do my best. First of all I would like to say Happy Holidays and to thank all of my fans who have followed me West-East-West. I know the journey was long but look where the road has taken us. I’m playing with future hall of fame players and even reunited with a former teammate which will only take my game higher. I still love all of my fans from Oakland and Charlotte and I also appreciate the love that you show when I come to your city. I’ll be blogging every Monday as long as my schedule allows me to. I have to make this short because I am getting ready to take a nap and prepare for our game against the Thunder, so I hope that you are tuned in and enjoy the Suns show .

Suns Lose Despite Big Game by Big Two

Charles Barkley had it right about the Spurs.

During the playoffs last year The Big Larynx said they were “like cockroaches.” And he meant it in a nice way, as in “You can’t kill ‘em.” And the Suns will certainly sigh a heartfelt “Amen” to that [Read more...]

A Silver Lining

It was muttered amongst the media. It was silently understood by some in the locker room. It is currently being shouted by fans on the Planet Orange message boards and outside the US Airways Center. “Typical.”

The Suns/Spurs dysfunctional relationship may have hung a loss on the Suns’ record, but there are a couple differences that point to a silver lining.

Suns Work Out Backup Point Guards

The Suns held a private workout of point guards Monday, not only because they are looking to sure up their backup slot in that role, but also because they’re in need of filling their league-mandatory 13th roster slot. [Read more...]

This was one of those games that could have gone either way – and did, several times before Steve Nash’s three late jumps shots put it in the win column for the Suns.

Nash, flashing some of his old MVP form, hit a deuce with 3:25 left to put the Suns up by three, a trey to put the Suns back ahead by three at 2:47, and another trey to put the Suns up by six at: 59. [Read more...]

Roy's 52 Points, Phoenix Turnovers Lead to Suns' Loss

The honeymoon from the Jason Richardson trade had to end sometime.  I had just hoped it would last a few more games to carry the Phoenix Suns into the Christmas Day game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Phoenix played a great game on Thursday night and had several chances to finish the Trailblazers off.  But they could never turn the corner and shut the door completely and the Blazers took full advantage of it.  When Greg Oden received his fifth foul on an exaggerated Shaq stumble and with the Suns up by 12, I thought they had pretty much sealed the deal on this game.  It’s possible the Phoenix players did as well and maybe let their guard down a bit too much.  The Blazers started making every shot and Brandon Roy, who had scored 21 in the first half, decided to take the game over and just wouldn’t miss – scoring 52 for the game.
