Key Player to Stop: DeMarcus Cousins
Kings center DeMarcus Cousins averaged 27.7 points and 11.7 boards against the Suns last season. His all-time scoring average of 22.8 points against the Suns is his best against any opponent.

In addition, his 51-percent shooting against Phoenix makes the Suns one of three teams that he’s shooting over 50 percent against in his career.

“They’re going to pound the ball inside to Cousins,” Suns head coach Alvin Gentry said. “But as good as he is as a post-up player, he probably faces up and goes by big guys as well as anyone in the league too.”

Last time the two clubs faced, Cousins racked up 41 points and 12 rebounds.

Opposite Directions
The Suns are coming off one of their best weeks of the season after defeating Memphis and Utah at home. While the Suns are gaining momentum, the Kings have been struggling recently.

Sacramento is currently in the midst of a four-game losing streak and lost three straight to the Suns. This season, the Kings are 1-9 on the road, and have lost 11 of their last 12 trips to Phoenix.

Despite the Kings’ recent skid, Gentry has warned his players that Sacramento is a dangerous club.

“We don’t have the ability or anything else not to approach this game with urgency,” the Suns head coach said.

Lineup Tinkering
It seems that the Suns are beginning to settle on a rotation. The Suns’ starting lineup of Jared Dudley, Luis Scola, Marcin Gortat, Shannon Brown and Goran Dragic is 2-0.

“All I’m trying to do is put guys in a position where we can win games,” Gentry said. “And it affects some guys, but it doesn’t affect others.”

Recently, Gentry had been doing a lot of tinkering. In fact, the Suns have used four different starting lineups in their last five games.
